Aziz Azion Biography

Aziz Azion, born Aziz Mukisa on July 27, 1986, in Fort Portal, Uganda, is a renowned Ugandan R&B singer-songwriter and guitarist. His music career began at an early age, and he's often referred to as "the guitar emperor." Aziz has made a significant impact on the Ugandan and East African music scene with hit songs such as 'Yegwe,' 'Nkumila Omukwano,' 'Nakupenda,' 'Oxygen,' 'Beera Nange,' 'Nzikiriza,' 'Pain Killer,' and 'Yo Love.'

He embraces a fusion of R&B with Afrobeat and Afropop influences. In 2020, Aziz established his own music label, Shotym Music Entertainment, to elevate his musical journey.

Aziz's musical journey began in 1998 when he learned to play the guitar with the local Kadongo Kamu band 'Makuge Kandongo Kamu group.' Over the years, he gained experience in various bands and shared the stage with renowned artists, including Jose Chameleon during an international tour in 2005.

Aziz's breakthrough came in 2008 with his hit single 'Nkumila Omukwano.' He has collaborated with various artists, such as GNL Zamba, Juliana, Goodlyfe, Mariam Ndagire, Swangz Avenue, Rabadaba, and Pastor Wilson Bugembe.

In 2011, Aziz released his second album, 'Oxygen,' which featured songs like 'Oxygen' and 'Baliwa.' He has been recognized for his talent, winning the Best R&B Artiste award at the 2011 PAM Awards. Aziz Azion continues to be a prominent figure in the Ugandan music scene.
