Desire Luzinda is a renowned Ugandan artist, philanthropist, and the founder of the Desire Luzinda Foundation International (DLFI), established on June 5, 2021. Born as Racheal Desire Luzinda on August 15, 1980, at Mulago Referral Hospital, she was raised in Uganda by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luzinda. Her father, a former Cabinet Minister during Amin's regime, and Member of the Legislature in the mid-90s, had a strong influence on her upbringing.
Desire Luzinda's educational journey took her through Buganda Road for primary education, followed by Omega College and Makerere High School for her A-levels. She began her bachelor's degree in Development Economics at Makerere University but discontinued in year two. In 2020, she graduated as a Medical Assistant from San Leandro Adult School in California.
Luzinda's career in the media included a stint as a live media presenter at WBS TV from 2005 to 2007. Later, she joined Dembe FM, where she co-hosted an evening drive show in 2011 in Kampala, Uganda.
Desire Luzinda's music career kicked off with her first song, 'Nakowa Emikwano,' recorded in 2006 at Fenon events after completing high school. She gained recognition and popularity over the years with her hit songs and performances.
