Emilian Starz wasn't your average kid growing up. Born and raised in Fort Portal, Uganda, young Emilian (real name Emily Fortunate) had music pumping through her veins from the get-go. By the age of 7, she was already belting out tunes in school, church, and even Sunday school – talk about setting the mood for bible study!
Those early performances were more than just fun and games; they sparked a fire in Emilian. School and church competitions became her battlegrounds, her voice the weapon (a pretty sweet one, at that). From spirited choir gatherings to talent shows, she soaked up every opportunity to hone her craft. And as she traded in pigtails for high school braids, her love for music only grew stronger, captivating audiences at school events with her undeniable talent.
But Emilian wasn't one to just sing in the shower. In 2017, she took a brave leap and released her debut song, "Byokola," produced by Johnie Beats. This wasn't just some bedroom recording; it was her declaration to the world: "Hey, listen up, there's a new star in town!" It marked the start of her musical journey, a path paved with her unique sound and infectious energy.
By 2020, Emilian's talent wasn't going unnoticed. Her captivating music cover caught the attention of record labels, and Black Market Records saw the magic in her. Fast forward to June 2021, and Emilian was officially signed, ready to take her music to the next level.
