Evelyn Lagu, real name Evelyn Nakabira, was a talented Ugandan artiste whose life and career were marked by resilience and a deep passion for music. However, her promising career faced an unexpected and challenging twist when she was diagnosed with kidney failure over three years ago. Despite the daunting health complications, Evelyn Lagu remained undeterred and continued to share her love for music with the world. Her unwavering determination and strength inspired many, and she maintained a strong public presence throughout her battle.

Tragically, on the Monday morning of Sept 18, 2023, Evelyn Lagu passed away from her home, leaving a void in the hearts of her family and the entire music industry. Her untimely departure came at a time when she was passionately planning an "Evelyn Love Charity Concert" scheduled for October 28, 2023, in Kampala.

Throughout her career, Evelyn Lagu produced a repertoire of popular songs, some of which have endured the test of time for over five years. Her music, including hits like "Mbulila," "Ogumanga," "Kasita Bakuleka," "I Love You," "Akalulu Mbeelawo," and "Wanjawulo," continues to resonate with fans even after her passing.
