Fille Biography

Fille Mutoni (born July 25, 1991) is a Ugandan recording artist popularly known by her stage name, Fille. She has collaborated with notable artists such as Radio and Weasel, as well as Bruce Melody from Rwanda.

Early Life and Education

Fille Mutoni was born on July 25, 1991, in the Western Region of Uganda, to Peter and Odette Rwibasira. Her parents have Rwandese ancestry. She attended Nakasero Primary School before transferring to Lubiri Secondary School. Fille completed her A-Level studies and obtained a High School Diploma from Standard High School in Kampala, Uganda's capital city. She was later admitted to St. Lawrence University, where she pursued a Bachelor of Public Administration degree.

Music Career

Fille's musical journey began with her debut hit song, "Where have you been at," released in 2013. The song garnered attention and set the stage for her subsequent releases. She followed up with popular tracks like "Gat no money" and "Hello," a collaboration with Rwandese singer Bruce Melody.

In February 2018, Fille organized her first music concert, which took place at the Golf Course Hotel and proved to be a resounding success. Encouraged by her growing fan base, she embarked on a European tour to launch her album titled "Alter Ego." The tour took her to various countries including Paris, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

Fille draws inspiration from influential artists such as Juliana Kanyomozi and Lauryn Hill. Prior to her commercial success in secular music, she was a choir member at Rubaga Miracle Centre.

Family and Relationships

Fille Mutoni, in her own words, values authenticity and honesty over material wealth when it comes to relationships. She is currently married to Edwin Katamba, a renowned Emcee from Kampala City widely known as MC Kats. The couple has been blessed with a daughter.

Fille and MC Kats first crossed paths at one of the 'Kadanke' fetes, where Fille had been invited by a friend to witness the enjoyment of teenagers. MC Kats was emceeing the event, and when Fille performed, he was captivated by her voice. They struck up a conversation that eventually led to their enduring relationship. The couple got engaged in 2015 at the Buzz Teeniez awards and have been together ever since.
