Ganda Boys (Da Twins) Biography

The Ganda Boys, a captivating fusion of African melodies and Western influences, originated in the vibrant musical landscape of the UK. Formed in 2009 through their exceptional collaboration on the BBC television drama series "Moses Jones," the trio comprises Ugandan vocalists Denis Mugagga and Daniel Sewagudde, former members of DaTwins, alongside the versatile American musician, arranger, and film composer Craig Pruess.

Craig Pruess, with a rich background as a multi-instrumentalist, award-winning composer, and gold and platinum record producer, ventured into the Kenyan music scene after serving at the East Conservatoire of Music in Nairobi. Despite facing conflicts with the conservatoire establishment over his rock and soul band, Mashada, Pruess left a mark by headlining major performances and eventually moved to the UK in 1973.

In addition to arranging music for top UK artists, including Massive Attack and Sir Elton John, Pruess became a sought-after session musician, contributing to projects like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. His outstanding contributions extend to box office hits like "Bend It Like Beckham" and "Bride and Prejudice."

The Ganda Boys' journey started with the creation of their charitable organization, the Ganda Foundation, dedicated to combating poverty in the Third World. Their inaugural project involved providing essential equipment to Ugandan hospitals and schools. While crafting a remarkable catalogue of songs and master recordings, the band has also made a global impact through their charity work.

The band's discography showcases their dynamic musical evolution, with albums like "The War Of Love" (2009), "Africa" (2012), "Mountains of the Moon" (2015), "Bakisimba" (2017), "Dance with DaTwinz" (2020), and the latest release in 2022, "Live in Oxford." Each album reflects the Ganda Boys' commitment to blending cultural influences and spreading their message of love and harmony worldwide
