Biography

Grace Nakimera, born on February 2, 1985, in Uganda, is a renowned gospel musician, dancer, composer, and songwriter. Raised by Mr. David Kalema and Ms. Rose Nabulya, Grace's early education took place at Bat Valley Primary School and Old Kampala Senior Secondary School. Later, she pursued a course at the Revlon Beauty School in Nairobi, showcasing her diverse interests.

Her musical journey began at the age of seven when she started singing, captivating audiences at talent shows in Kampala. At 18, Grace ventured to Rwanda, spending two years performing with the resident band at Mille Collin Hotel in Kigali, prominently featured in the "Hotel Rwanda" movie depicting the tragic events of the Rwandan genocide. Returning to Kampala in 2000, she joined Christ the King church choir, marking a significant chapter in her musical career.

In 2004, Grace Nakimera experienced a breakthrough in her solo career, collaborating with the singing duo Gatimo and Paragon to produce the hit song "Ani Akumanyi." This collaboration earned them the Upcoming Artists Award at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards 2004/5. Following the group's split, Grace embarked on a solo journey and released hit songs such as "Anfuukula," "Kiva Kuki," "Sukuma," "Nvawo Nawe," and the rock gospel anthem "Onyambanga."

Beyond her musical pursuits, Grace Nakimera is a business owner and a proud mother. Her life is a testament to the harmonious blend of faith, talent, and entrepreneurship.
