Herbert Skillz, known as "The Soundmaker," is a prominent producer who has made significant contributions to the music industry. His journey in the world of music began in 2008, a year that marked a significant transformation in the Ugandan music scene, as it transitioned from traditional local music to a more urban and world-class sound. Herbert Skillz embarked on his music production career at Glory Sound Studio in Kamwokya, before advancing to Eddy Yawe's Dream Studio. It was during his time at Dream Studio that he honed his skills and produced numerous notable songs.

Later in his career, Herbert Skillz joined Mask Studios, where he played a pivotal role in producing songs for artists like Arafat and Magla. Some of the remarkable tracks that bear his signature include "Oh Boy," "Magma," "Neighbour," "Maurice Hasa," "Onkuba," and "Peter Miles," among others.

A significant turning point in Herbert Skillz's career was his collaboration with Jade SoundMakers, his wife, which led to the establishment of Sound Makers Studio.
