Latinum Biography

Latinum, born Mbangaira Tonny on October 10, 1997, is a Ugandan multi-genre artist known for blending Dancehall, Ragga, Reggae, Afrobeat, Soco, and RnB in his music. Currently residing in Kampala, Uganda, his musical journey began in 2010 within the church choir, where he honed his singing and dancing skills.

In 2015, Latinum relocated from Bunamwaya (Wakiso District) to Mbarara City (Mbarara District), marking a turning point in his career. He transitioned to become a professional musician in 2016, releasing his debut single, "Ova Kampala." Further releases like "Zimenya," "Some Mi Want," "Lights Off," "Nduulu," and more followed, establishing his presence in the Ugandan music scene.

His major breakthrough arrived in 2017 with the hit song "Amanya Agange," which earned him recognition and paved the way for subsequent chart-topping tracks like "Baabo," "Tornado," "Manaway," "She Wine (Latinum ft All Stars)," and "Nze N Kuba (ft All Stars)."

Latinum continued his momentum in 2018 with the energetic "Kagwilawo" and teen-focused "Gal Yo." Early 2019 saw the release of the mellow "Balage," which led to a successful collaboration with established artist Vinka on the song "Settle."

His 2019 hit "Imana Yangye" solidified his popularity, followed by well-received singles like "Tulikike," "Kyoba Omanya," "Kyaana Kya Mbarara," and "Bedroom Remix."
