Lydia Nabawanuka, better known by her stage name Lydia Jazmine, is a Ugandan singer-songwriter. She was born in Masaka, Uganda, in 1991. She began her musical career in high school, when she joined the school choir. She later joined the church choir at the Passover Harvest Centre and at Watoto Church. After graduating from high school, she joined a band called Gertnum, where she sang background vocals.
In 2014, Jazmine released her debut single, "You Know", in collaboration with Rabadaba. The song was a commercial success and helped to launch her career. She has since released several other singles, including "Nkubanja", "Cherie", "Tukumbe", and "Guno Omukwano". She has also collaborated with other artists, such as Geosteady, Sheebah Karungi, and Spilla.
In 2017, Jazmine was selected to participate in "Coke Studio Africa 2017", to represent Uganda. She was paired with Mozambican songstress Liloca, and they recorded the song "Waiting for Your Love". The song was a hit and helped to boost Jazmine's popularity in East Africa.
Jazmine has won several awards for her music, including the HiPipo Music Award for Best Female Artist in 2018. She is considered to be one of the most promising young artists in Uganda.
