Biography

Lyto Boss, born Katongole Derrick on May 5th in the early 90s, emerged as a musical force from the vibrant suburb of Bwaise Kawempe in Kampala District, Uganda. Raised by Mr. & Mrs. Kakooza Amos, his early exposure to music came through Outspan Nursery & Primary school in Bwaise, where he mastered various instruments such as the guitar, trumpet, saxophone, and piano.

His academic journey led him to Mamtaz Secondary School, DK Educational Hill School for O-levels, and Bright Future Secondary School for A-levels. Lyto Boss furthered his education at Makerere University, Kampala. His musical journey began in 2009 as an instrumentalist with Diamonds Production, where the band owner and renowned actor Hon. Kato Lubwaama bestowed upon him the moniker "Lyto Boss."

As a versatile instrumentalist, Lyto Boss transitioned into a prolific songwriter, penning tracks for prominent figures like Rema Namakula, Maureen Nantume, Desire Luzinda, and Catherine Kusasira. In 2011, Lyto Boss made a bold entry into the mainstream music scene with the RnB sensation "Mukyaalo," marking the inception of his singing career.

The artist continued to captivate audiences with subsequent hits, including "Lwobuze," "Nyonta," "Born in Africa," "Kanzunzu," "Kitengejja," "Omwetaaga," "Anjagala," and "Katula." Collaborating with notable artists such as Bobi Wine, Moses Radio (RIP), Solome Mirembe, and Chosen Becky, Lyto Boss solidified his presence in the music industry.

In 2014, Lyto Boss staged his first successful concert, a series of five shows at prominent venues. This accomplishment set the stage for more significant events, with the 2016 concert "Katula Anjagala" at Club Obligato, Big Zone Nansana, and Darenaz Kawanda, all resounding successes. The year 2017 saw the artist reach new heights with the grand "True Love" concert at Theatre Labonita and Lido Beach, leaving audiences eager for more.
