Mugaba Biography

Born on June 23, 1993, in Kigali, Rwanda, Mugaba is a versatile artist excelling as a producer, songwriter, and singer. After moving to Kampala, Uganda, in 2003, he completed his primary and high school education before redirecting his focus to music, abandoning his studies at Makerere University Business School.

Mugaba's early musical inclination led him to join the church choir, nurturing his vocal talents. Actively engaging in the music scene during his university days, his diverse skills in singing, rapping, writing, and producing drew the attention of Afrikane from Cosy Afrikane Productions. This partnership resulted in successful tracks like 'In My Bed,' 'Faya,' 'Langi,' and 'Rewind It.'

After 17 months with Cosy Afrikane Productions, Mugaba parted ways in January 2020. Subsequently, he released his debut EP, "Better Me," featuring the hit collaboration "Magnet" with Ugandan Songbird Fille. The song gained widespread airplay and secured a spot in the top 20 on Galaxy FM.

In July, Mugaba participated in the #inmybedversechallenge by American artist/actor Rotimi, winning the competition on August 17, 2020. Expressing the need for platforms supporting artists, he stated, "We have a lot of potential; all we need is a platform that embraces and supports our art."

Currently, Mugaba is working on promotional music videos for his released tracks and recording his debut album, set for a mid-2021 release
