Os Suna Biography

Omulangira Emmanuel Suuna, also known as OS, is a multi-talented Ugandan musician, songwriter, and producer. His journey in the music industry began in 2004, during his senior five year, under the guidance of Omulangira Ndausi, a member of Radio Simba's Fanda Family music group.

Born on December 25, 1982, in Misigi village, Singo, Mityana District, Uganda, OS grew up in Mbirizi village, Masaka District. He completed his primary education at Mbirizi Primary School and Kyamaganda Demonstration School before moving to Kasasa Secondary School.

After a brief period as a street boy in Kampala, OS's father disciplined him with 80 cane strokes, leading him to resume his education. He attended Nakyenyi Senior Secondary School in Mbirizi, where he achieved an impressive first-grade result in senior four, a significant accomplishment after a long break from formal education.

At the age of 18, OS left school during his senior five and relocated to Kampala to pursue a music career. He started in bands like Friends Band and the Betty Kagimu Band, where he honed his musical skills. His early career saw him producing his first hit song, "Joana," at Dream Studios.

OS faced challenges in his musical journey when he embraced Islam and got married to Aisha, as Islamic doctrines discouraged music. This led to hardships, including sleeping in his car and surviving on porridge for three days due to financial struggles.

A turning point in OS's life came when his sister, Nalwadda, residing in Dubai, reached out to him after five years without communication and offered him financial assistance. This led to his reconciliation with his family and a resurgence in his music career.

Throughout his career, OS has produced and performed his own songs, including "Lwaki Onumya," "Ngamba," and "Zuena." He is also the owner of White House Entertainment, a prominent music label in Uganda. Despite his success, OS remains grounded and is known for his fondness for tea, a habit inherited from his father. He abstains from smoking and drugs, maintaining a clean and focused lifestyle.

One notable, albeit embarrassing, incident in OS's life was when he forgot to zip up his trousers before appearing on stage to present music at Mayor's Garden in Jinja City. Despite the ups and downs in his journey, OS has persevered and established himself as a prominent figure in the Ugandan music industry, showcasing his diverse talents as a musician, songwriter, producer, and skilled instrumentalist.
