Biography

Reagan Muhairwe, better known as Ray G Rhiganz, emerged from the vibrant musical landscape of Uganda, weaving his distinctive voice into the tapestry of heritage music. Born on June 12, 1992, Ray G's musical journey began in 2009 while still a student, and by 2014, he etched his name in the industry with the resounding success of "Amarari."

Ray G's musical prowess found international resonance when he shared stages with icons like Eddy Kenzo, Meddy, and Jose Chameleone during the Johnnie Walker Highball tour in Mbarara. Hailing from Western Uganda, he joined the ranks of celebrated artists like Allan Toniks, Sister Charity, and Juliana Kanyomozi.

Despite not pursuing a university education due to financial constraints, Ray G's dedication to his craft propelled him to East African recognition, notably through his collaboration with Spice Diana on the hit song "Omusheshe."

In a career milestone, Ray G marked a decade in the industry with a record-breaking concert in Mbarara City in 2019, attracting support from popular companies and solidifying his influence in Western Uganda.

Ray G's commitment extends beyond music; during the COVID-19 pandemic, he lent his voice to awareness efforts, contributing to the song "Corana Distance" alongside Bebe Cool and Catherine Kusasira.

The journey hasn't been without its challenges. In 2021, Ray G faced legal scrutiny over an alleged breach of a performing contract, highlighting the complexities that artists navigate in the industry.

In the realm of personal life, Ray G's story took unexpected turns. His relationship with Liz, which began in 2016, faced turmoil, leading to Ray G's marriage to TV presenter Annabelle Twinomugisha in 2021. The union faced heartbreak with the loss of their second-born daughter, Kim, a moment further complicated by Ray G's past relationship.

Ray G's musical accolades include the Best Western Act at the Hipipo Music Awards for "Weeshe" and Best Written of the Year for "Omusheshe" in 2020. His diverse discography reflects his musical evolution, from the early "Amarari" to recent hits like "Rukundo" and "Make a Way."
