Biography

Derrick Ddungu, aka Rickman Manrick, is a Ugandan artist and footballer born on December 25th in Bakuli, Kampala. Raised in a football-centric family, with his father being a former KCCA FC player and coach, Rickman pursued both sports and education, completing O-levels at Old Kampala Secondary School and A-levels at St Juliana.

His football journey led him to Sweden, where he played for Sävedalen IF and worked as a student teacher at Kvarnbyskolean School for Children with Autism in Gothenburg. However, a knee injury in 2016 prompted him to explore music during his recovery. Rickman returned to Uganda, delving into dancehall, reggae, and R&B genres.

Notable for his style, Rickman received nominations in the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards and won Best LugaFlow/Rap Artist at the 2022 Zzina Galaxy awards. Beyond his artistic achievements, he's romantically linked with Sheila Carol Gashumba since April 2021
