Tarel Tala Biography

Tarel Tala, born Kawooya Jonathan on February 2001 in Kampala, Uganda, is an Afropop music artist associated with Musoni Music and distributes his music through Black Market Records. Growing up in challenging circumstances, Tarel Tala spent his formative years in an orphanage named Bulamu Children’s Village and in the Ntinda suburb of Kampala.

From an early age, Tarel Tala demonstrated his musical inclination by joining a church choir at the age of 7. His journey in the music industry has been marked by resilience and dedication. Throughout the years, he has released a number of records, including notable tracks such as ‘Kikadde,’ ‘Bestie,’ and ‘Kanemu.’

Specializing in Afropop, Afro-zouk, and RnB genres, Tarel Tala is recognized for his distinctive talent and versatility as a musician. His inspiration to pursue a career in music was drawn from the influence of acclaimed Ugandan artist Eddy Kenzo and the renowned American RnB star, Usher. Tarel Tala continues to make a significant impact in the music scene with his unique style and musical expression.
