TRUTH 256's journey into the world of music commenced at the age of 12, as he began crafting rhymes that reflected his aspirations inspired by American rap artists he admired on television. Hailing from Western Uganda and raised by his mother, TRUTH harbored dreams of making a mark in the music industry.
His debut track from the highly anticipated mixtape, 'So Firm,' delves into the challenges he faced in his teenage years, particularly in overcoming resistance from friends and family who initially did not support his musical pursuits.
In a significant turn of events, TRUTH seized an opportunity in July 2013 when he auditioned for a talent search sponsored by NTV Uganda. His talent did not go unnoticed, as Celebrity Judges Bebe Cool and Jackie Chandiru selected him to represent his hometown. Throughout the season, TRUTH captivated audiences and emerged as a fan favorite. His outstanding performances culminated in his victory as a winner of Talent XP in December 2013.
During this pivotal period, TRUTH found mentorship from Isaiah Katumwa, a revered local jazz legend. This mentorship opened doors for TRUTH, leading to an invitation to join the Talanta Band for a tour that spanned from the audition success in 2013 to its conclusion in August 2015. This experience served as a valuable chapter in TRUTH's artistic journey, contributing to his growth and development as a musician.
Having evolved from his earlier collaborative endeavors, TRUTH now stands as a solo artist, recording and touring independently. His resilience, showcased in both his personal narrative and musical endeavors, continues to define his unique presence in the vibrant musical landscape.
