Born and raised in the challenging environment of Kamwokya, a slum in Kampala, Uganda, he embarked on his musical journey at the age of 17, driven by a profound aspiration to bring about positive change within his community through his artistic talents.
As his musical career unfolded, Zex actively collaborated with numerous charitable organizations, dedicating his talents to causes aimed at uplifting the less fortunate. It was during one such talent search organized by the renowned musician and activist Bobi Wine, that Zex crossed paths with the Ghetto President himself. This fateful encounter led to Zex's recruitment into Bobi Wine's esteemed Fire Base Crew, a music label celebrated for its commitment to edutainment, positive messaging, and inspirational arts. Zex's exceptional contributions within the crew have earned him the honorary title of "Ghetto Prime Minister" bestowed upon him by Bobi Wine.
Over time, Zex Bilangilangi has emerged as an inspirational figure, particularly among the youth residing in underprivileged ghetto areas across Uganda. His enduring commitment to making a difference in the lives of those with limited resources has made him a beacon of hope and a role model for many.
In his current role, Zex serves as the official ambassador for Collusion Network in Uganda, a charitable organization that prioritizes breaking down barriers for young people through a variety of projects, with a strong emphasis on the transformative power of music. Through his work with Collusion Network, Zex continues to channel his creative energy towards creating a brighter future for the youth of Uganda, helping them overcome obstacles and realize their full potential.
