Cleopatra Koheirwe is a Ugandan actress, writer, singer, and media personality, known for her diverse range of abilities. Her introduction to the screen began in 2006 with her role as Joy in the acclaimed film "The Last King of Scotland." Since then, she has gained significant recognition both locally and internationally, securing numerous roles in various film and television projects.
Notably, Cleopatra appeared as Mother in the popular Netflix series "Sense8" during its second season. She also stars as Ebony in the captivating TV series "Reflections," directed and produced by Nana Kagga, alongside other esteemed Ugandan celebrities such as Malaika Nnyanzi, Housen Mushema, Andrew Kyamagero, Prynce Joel Okuyo, and Gladys Oyenbot.
In June 2019, Cleopatra joined StarTimes Uganda as their Public Relations Manager, contributing her expertise to the organization. Her career journey has been multifaceted, showcasing her skills in various artistic fields.
As a musical artist, Cleopatra embarked on her solo singing career in 2010, following encouragement from friends and fans. Her debut single titled "Ngamba" garnered significant attention, receiving substantial airplay on several Ugandan radio stations. She continued to release music videos and collaborated with Kenyan dancehall artist Levysill on the song "Lay You Down." Cleopatra draws inspiration from her surroundings and personal experiences when writing most of her songs.
Cleopatra's radio career began in 2003 at 91.3 Capital FM, where she co-hosted the Drive Time Show. She also presented The Dream Breakfast on Saturdays.
Throughout the years, she worked at different radio stations, including KIU FM and Radiocity 97fm, hosting various shows such as The Left Drive and The Jam.
She took a maternity break in 2013 but later resumed her radio career as a co-host of the Mid-Morning Magazine at Radiocity until her move to StarTimes in May 2019.
In addition to her accomplishments in music and radio, Cleopatra has made notable contributions to the television industry. She attended a workshop in Los Angeles at the Relativity School's Los Angeles Centre Studios, where she received a certificate in Acting for Camera. Additionally, she underwent acting training in The Meisner Technique by Rob Mello Studios.
Cleopatra's educational background includes studies at Nakasero Primary School, Bugema Adventist Secondary School, Namasagali College, and Makerere University. She holds an Honors bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and a Certificate in Community Journalism from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
On a personal note, Cleopatra's journey has been shaped by the loss of her father before her birth and the passing of her mother when she was 15. She has a daughter named Aviana Twine Jawar, born in 2014, with her boyfriend Lwanda Jawar.
