Zzina Awards 2024 Winners List: Alien Skin Crowned Artist of the Year

The 2024 Zzina Awards, which honor excellence in the Ugandan music industry, took place recently, celebrating the talents and achievements of artists and industry professionals. Among the highlights of the evening was the recognition of the best fans team, with Fangone Soldiers emerging as the winners in this category.

The Zzina Awards, known for their impartial and comprehensive approach to acknowledging talent, featured a diverse range of nominees in various categories. However, it was Fangone Soldiers, a dedicated and passionate fan base, that clinched the title of Best Fans Team. Their unwavering support for their favorite artists, coupled with their enthusiastic engagement on social media platforms, set them apart from the competition.

In addition to honoring fans, the Zzina Awards also celebrated the creativity and artistry of musicians with awards like Best Inspirational Song, Best Songwriter, Best Lugaflow/Rap Song, Best Producer, and more.

One of the standout moments of the evening was King Saha's "Ebiseera" being crowned as the Best Inspirational Song. This soul-stirring track resonated deeply with audiences, highlighting Saha's ability to touch hearts with his music.

The Best Lugaflow/Rap Song category saw Gravity Omutujju's "Okwepicha" claim the top spot, highlighting the rapper's lyrical prowess and his impact on the Ugandan music scene.

Meanwhile, the award for Best Producer went to D’Mario, recognizing his talent and contribution to shaping the sound of contemporary Ugandan music.

In the dancehall category, Alien Skin's electrifying track "Party" was named the Best Dancehall Song.

Vyroota was honored as the Best Contemporary Urban Artist, as the night also saw Fik Gaza being recognized as the Breakthrough Artist, signaling a promising future for the former Fangone Forest artist.

However, perhaps the most anticipated award of the evening was the Artist of the Year, which was awarded to Alien Skin.
