Uganda's entertainment industry has come together in a show of solidarity and support for renowned singer Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, who is currently battling stomach complications.
The news of Chameleone's health struggles became public when he revealed that he had been experiencing illness during his music tour in the United States.
Chameleone's father, Gerald Mayanja, disclosed that the singer left Uganda while feeling unwell, and subsequent medical examinations revealed that he was suffering from stomach complications that have taken a toll on his overall health.
Gravity Omutujju, a fellow artist and close friend of Chameleone, had a conversation with the singer, during which Chameleone confirmed his illness and mentioned being confined to a sickbed.
Moved by the gravity of their colleague's condition, Gravity Omutujju reached out to the Ugandan entertainment community, urging them to join in prayer for Chameleone's recovery.
"As a country, we need to pray for Chameleone, his friends, and everybody. Wherever you are, pray for Chameleone because he is terribly ill. At the time I gave him a call, he was heading into the operating room for an operation," Gravity expressed.
Responding to Gravity's call, a multitude of celebrities, including singers, socialites, actors, media personalities, and comedians, united with netizens to send their prayers and well wishes to the 44-year-old singer.
Notable figures such as Eddy Kenzo, Geosteady, Navio, Big Eye Starboss, Hannington Bugingo, DJ Jacob Omutuuze, and MC Kats took to social media to share photographs of Chameleone along with messages wishing him a swift recovery.
