Diana Nabatanzi is a multifaceted Ugandan entertainer known for her work in film, radio, and television. She is recognized as an actress, radio personality, TV presenter, filmmaker, writer, director, and scriptwriter. Currently, she holds the position of a moderator at BBS terefayina, where she hosts various shows, including the popular morning show "Sumulula," "Kasukali," and "Uga Hood Show."
Background
Diana was born in Kampala, Uganda, to Fred Magala and Rosemary Nanteza. She is the second of five children and grew up in Kampala. As of 2021, she is in her early thirties.
Education
Diana attended St. Elizabeth Primary School for her elementary education before joining St. Mary's Nsuba for her O-level studies. She then enrolled in St. Joseph Centenary School to complete her A-level education. After finishing her secondary education, she pursued a diploma in journalism and mass communication at Kampala University. Subsequently, she furthered her education by obtaining a Bachelor's degree in business administration from Ndejje University.
Movie Career
Diana's passion for acting and performing began during her primary school years when she participated in school dramas and singing activities. After completing her senior six, she dedicated herself to a career in film acting. She joined the production company "Aromatic Films" and made her mark by starring in several notable Ugandan movies such as "Sikola," "Bwebatyo," "Call 112," "House Arrest," "Abakyala Bazira," "The Maker," and "Bunjako," the first horror movie produced in Uganda.
In 2017, Diana acted in the drama series "Nawolovu," which premiered on Bukedde TV. Her production company, "Aromatic Films," also achieved success with the drama series "Entuunnusi." She further showcased her talent in the drama TV show "Mistakes Girls Do," produced by Richard Mulindwa under Limit Production, which aired on Pearl Magic TV in 2017. Additionally, she appeared in John Segawa's "Honorables," which aired on NTV Uganda and later on Pearl Magic.
Media Career
During her pursuit of a Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication, Diana completed an internship at the Christian radio station Prime Radio. She then went on to work for two years at Uganda Broadcasting Corporation and later joined Pearl FM radio station. Her talent and contributions were recognized when she received nominations for Best Actress in TV Drama at the Uganda Film Festival Awards in both 2016 and 2018. Diana also appeared on billboards for an electoral commission advertisement.
Personal Life
In addition to her professional endeavors, Diana is actively involved in philanthropy and runs a foundation called the Tanzi Foundation. She prefers to keep her personal life private, including details about her husband. While rumors have circulated about her having two children, she has publicly denied such claims.
